Technology overview
The Dermablate uses an Erbium-doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet (Er:YAG) crystal emitting at 2,940 nm, the peak absorption wavelength of water. Because the epidermis is roughly 70 per cent water, the energy is absorbed in a few microns of tissue, producing clean ablation with minimal thermal spread. The result is controlled skin resurfacing with significantly reduced downtime compared with traditional ablative lasers.
Asclepion's COOL technology adds a thermal component you control. In cold mode the laser ablates with almost no coagulation, ideal for lesions and pigmented spots. In warm and hot modes the pulse is stretched to add controlled heat for collagen contraction and haemostasis. The fractional handpiece creates microscopic treatment zones surrounded by untreated skin, which accelerates healing and drives natural collagen remodelling.

Is Dermablate safe for Asian skin?
Er:YAG at 2,940 nm is absorbed by water rather than melanin, and the COOL mode limits thermal spread. Clinicians using Dermablate in Malaysia report a significantly lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation compared with CO2 or IPL on Fitzpatrick III to V skin. Parameters and patient selection remain the responsibility of the treating doctor.
